Adrian Jollow completed a Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy) from the University of Sydney in 1997, commenced work as a physiotherapist in 1998 before starting at the Hand Unit at RPAH in 1999.Adrian went on to further his skills and knowledge in Hand Therapy by completing a Masters of Health Science (Physiotherapy) in 2002 through the University of Sydney,majoring in Hand Therapy.

Working exclusively in hand therapy private practice since 2002, with twelve years at North Shore Hand Therapy, and Bondi Junction Hand Therapy and Active Physio Newtown from June 2014. Adrian has over eighteen years experience in busy private hand therapy practices. This involves managing a variety of conditions in conjunction with the expertise of renowned Sydney Hand Surgeons. Conditions such as mallet fingers, dislocated fingers, arthritic conditions, tendinopathies, fractured wrists, through to complex reconstructive post-operative management such as tendon / nerve repairs or transfers are all part of a day’s work for this hand therapist.

Adrian fulfilled the criteria and became a full member of the Australian Hand Therapy Association (AHTA) in 2004 and is an Accredited Hand Therapist (AHT) as awarded by the AHTA. For over ten years, Adrian filmed the NSW Hand Therapy Special Interest Group Meetings, primarily for rural therapists who were unable to attend the Sydney based meetings. For over 7 years Adrian was involved with post-operative outcome studies following trapeziectomy, tendon interposition arthroplasty for basal joint arthritis of the thumb, as well as FCR decompression. Adrian was the AHTA Historian from 2010-2015. Adrian is currently in the Knowledge & Resources Sub-committee of the Australian Hand Therapy Association. In addition to full membership of the AHTA, Adrian has been an associate member of the NSW Hand Surgeons Association since 2011and is a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA). Adrian was part of the organising committee for the 2016 Australian Hand Therapy Association National Conference - Tendons: Moving to Mastery.

Since 2016, Adrian has been involved with Orthopaedic Outreach and the Myers Hand Surgery Team annual trip to Lautoka, Fiji. Lautoka Hospital services the Western half of the island Vitu Levu and working with the local staff has been very rewarding. The main purpose of these trips is the education of local staff, as well as providing supplies to help with rehabilitation following hand and upper limb injuries and surgery.

With over 18 years experience in hand therapy, Adrian is skilled in post-operative management and wound care, scar management, oedema control, custom made thermoplastic and neoprene splinting, plaster and synthetic waterproof casting, and the appropriate rehabilitation of common and complex hand conditions.



When not contemplating the wonders of the human hand, another of Adrian’s passions is surfing the Northern Beaches of Sydney (or anywhere else for that matter).
